What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember certain information across pages or visits — such as your cookie preferences themselves. Cookies do not give websites access to your computer or any personal information beyond what you choose to share.

Most websites use some cookies to function correctly. Others are optional and serve purposes such as understanding how visitors use the site. We only use optional cookies where you have given consent.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always active

Required for the website to function. They manage session state and remember your cookie consent choice. These cannot be disabled.

Duration: session and up to 1 year for consent records.

Analytics Cookies (optional)

Help us understand which pages are most visited and how visitors navigate the site, so we can make improvements. Data is aggregated and anonymised.

Typical provider: Google Analytics. Duration: up to 2 years.

Marketing Cookies (optional)

Used to understand the effectiveness of any advertising and to avoid showing you ads unrelated to your interests. We currently use minimal advertising and these are off by default.

Duration: up to 90 days.

Preference Cookies (optional)

Remember settings such as your region or language preference to make repeat visits more convenient.

Duration: up to 1 year.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third-party services we use. Where optional cookies are involved, we only activate these with your consent. Current third-party services that may set cookies include:

  • Google Analytics — usage data (if analytics cookies are accepted)
  • Google Maps — when the embedded map on our homepage is loaded

Each of these providers has their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review if you have concerns.
